Too bad there isn't a way to slow down the volume to make it last longer.

I’m not the sort of person who writes reviews. But I had to write one for this mushroom kit. This has completely EXCEEDED my expectations. I though I might get a few mushrooms and it’d be a fun project. We have had so many in our first flush we gave some to my mother in law. The mushrooms are waaaay tastier than store bough and hold their texture after sauté in a way that I’ve never experienced (in a good sorta crunchy way)!
I grew theses in my basement that is underground and stays pretty cool. Easy instructions, I watched the very cute how to video with the seller’s kiddos.

Overall: will be a repeat customer after this box is done. Looking forward to using the ‘used up’ dirt/straw in my veggie garden this spring.

The instructions are very easy to follow. Like growing anything, most of the important things are in the prep work. One thing to note is that I used reverse osmosis water on the mushrooms. My photo is on Day 14 and my little Stay-Puft marshmallow men are getting larger by the day. One thing that’s also interesting is the LACK OF SMELL with this kit. All in all I’m very happy with it and will recommend.

This kit worked very well--years ago I used to have these kinds of kits and enjoyed eating home grown mushrooms. When they say the mushrooms double in size each day, they are not kidding! I messed up and forgot about it for a day or so, and when I looked again, the mushrooms were huge, had turned brownish, and had flattened out, rather than being white, button mushrooms as they had been the last time I checked them. This was all my error! I'm going to try for a second batch from this kit. I plan to watch it more closely this time!
