I have an article that I feel is very important to read as well as a study that was done on "roundup" and how it may just be behind our gluten intolerance epidemic. Please take a moment to read these important documents. It could help be the missing puzzle piece that many of you and your friends and family have been searching for. Article in Mother Earth News: Is Roundup the Cause of "Gluten Intolerance"? . Study From the Journal of Interdisciplinary Toxicology: Glyphosate, pathways to modern diseases II:
Celiac sprue and gluten intolerance.
Symptoms of Celiac and Gluten Intolerance include (but not limited to): "Celiac disease, and more generally, gluten intolerance, is a growing problem worldwide, but especially in North America and Europe, where an estimated 5 percent of the population now suffers from it. Symptoms include nausea, diarrhea, skin rashes, macrocytic anemia and depression. It is a multifactorial disease associated with numerous nutritional deficiencies as well as reproductive issues and increased risk to thyroid disease, kidney failure and cancer."
This article opened my eyes to an even WIDER impact as it stated: "Glyphosate residues in wheat and other crops are likely increasing recently due to the growing practice of crop desiccation just prior to harvest. We argue that the practice of “ripening” sugar cane with glyphosate may explain the recent surge in kidney failure among agricultural workers in Central America. We conclude with a plea to governments to reconsider policies regarding the safety of glyphosate residues in foods."
Many Many farmers use wheat straw in their garden pathways. Many home gardeners also have gotten into what is called "straw bale gardening". A lot of farmers use wheat straw to bed down their animals during winter and underfoot while stabled. Do you see what I am getting at... it is EVERYWHERE.
So many people have no idea that they have an issue with gluten. It is one of those things that sort of sneaks up on you. Starts off as stomach upset, gas, bloating, occasional diarrhea and at times escalates to severe stomach cramping. Fibromyalgia, stiff joints etc are also symptoms. I have encountered many people with mystery skin rashes, adult acne, children with hives like rashes etc - this is the bodies way of expelling toxins. Since connecting the dots is difficult. For most I have suggested to simply try an elimination diet. Eliminate gluten and dairy first and see how things go. Gluten can actually stick it out in adults for a year (or more), in children not as long. But pretty much everyone notes a significant difference within the first month. Enough so that it encourages them to stay gluten free. When they cheat. There is typically a response within a day or two.

Please note that while we work hard to stick with what we have planned... plans can change at the very last minute to include what is available. For instance... this week we had to make some last minute adjustments. I will be showing those changes on the previous post about the March 5th delivery week.
Thanks! Hoping that this is the very last of the winter storms for this season! (we were expecting 1/2" of ice on Sunday... instead we received 3" of sleet during the day on Sunday... it just wouldn't stop! covered in an additional 3" of snow Sunday night! Bob was able to remove some from our hill/drive and then the gravel road. He was on the major hill out of here and the plow came up behind him. The driver stopped and Thanked him for doing it because his blade leaves behind 2" of ice! Bob was all the way down to the pavement. Hoping the 2" of ice on the bottom road blows off soon.)
Have a Spring-Like Rest of the week!
